A Jam-Packed Weekend to Get You in the Holiday Spirit
December is a crazy month here in Bellingham. With many holidays (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, NYE), kids being out of school, present buying, family in town, possible snowstorms, etc., “the most wonderful time of the year” is full of festive events. Make sure you check our events calendar to stay up to date on everything happening around the brewery!
1. Downtown Tree Lighting Ceremony
Friday 12/2 is the annual Downtown Bellingham Tree Lighting Ceremony. Located at Depot Market Square, right across the street from Boundary Bay Brewery, there will be many festivities including the lighting of the tree, hot cocoa, cookies, and caroling. Festivities will start around 5:30 pm.
2. First Friday Art Walk
Also happening on Friday is the First Friday Art Walk! Here at Boundary Bay, we’ll be showcasing our new artist Laurel Holmes, whose lovely pieces will be gracing the walls of the bistro all month long! Laurel’s Old Timey Jam Band will be playing from 4-6 pm on our heated deck, and you can even meet Laurel afterward! Stop by to enjoy some drinks, live music, and wonderful art as you continue your walk downtown.
3. FIFA World Cup: USA vs Netherlands
We’ll be opening at 7 am Saturday, December 3rd to watch team USA play against the Netherlands in the FIFA World Cup! It’s been 8 years since the USA made it into the knockout stage, and we don’t want to miss a second of it! Stop by for specialty breakfast drinks, and complimentary cinnamon rolls while you cheer on team USA!
4. Santa at the Brewery
Santa will be at the brewery on Saturday the 3rd from 1-3 pm! He’s making a quick stop in Bellingham so you can get your pictures taken and tell him everything that’s on your wish list! He’ll be hanging out on our heated deck, with complimentary hot cider, cookies, and candy canes! You don’t want to miss out! This is a free event with the Downtown Bellingham Partnership.
5. Farmers Market
The Bellingham Farmers Market is ending soon! The last market of the year will take place on Saturday the 17th. That means there are only 3 more market days (12/3, 12/10 & 12/17) until it’s done for the year. Don’t miss out, as it’ll only occur once a month January - March 2023. Grab the last of the fresh produce and gifts from local vendors, then pop into Boundary Bay for some drinks and food to help warm you up!
6. Local Sports
Local sports fans also have lots to look forward to this weekend! The Seattle Kraken play the Florida Panthers at 7 pm on Saturday. Less than 24 hours later the Seahawks will face off against the LA Rams. The game starts at 1:05 pm. We’ll also have a $5 pint special every game!
